Hotels
In Miami Beach Fl, it is possible to stay in any type of hotel. From boutique hotels, which are small, have a small number of rooms and trendy designs, to the large hotel chains with more classic furniture.

We have selected the best for each category, based on position, style, charm, services and price. All our hotels are quite unique. Their design is fancy, and there’s a great care for details. All of them also represent Miami Beach’s philosophy: trendiness.

The most interesting are usually found in Ocean Drive. We suggest those because that way you won’t necessarily need a car. You’ll be able to walk out of the hotel and dive into SOBE’s atmosphere. One gets a nice feeling when one opens the door and feels a lot of people talking and moving. One will never feel alone in Miami Beach. You’ll be able to dress the way you like, eat at any hour of the day, even by yourself, and no one will bother you, as you will always feel part of the community.

However, we are warning you: these hotels may be noisy, with all the music and confusion out on the streets. If you have difficulty sleeping, book rooms on the back. They are usually soundproofed, but we assure you that Ocean Drive and South Beach are alive from night until the morning after.

If you have a car, a valet will take your car from the front of the hotel and park it. However, they are usually quite expensive. On the other hand, timed parking spaces are available with nighttime fees halfway through Washington Avenue between the 11th and the 12th, or in Collins Avenue between the 5th and the 6th. There are also expensive sheltered private parking spaces, scattered around Collins Avenue. We suggest renting a bike between the 5th and Washington if you’re planning to stay in SoBe. We suggest locking it well and leave it indoors especially designed for hotel guests. If you’re renting an apartment, we suggest putting it in your room.

Do not leave your car in residents-only parking spaces or timed (which use multiples of two hours), because in South Beach fines and car towing are very common practices.

The classic, largest and most historical hotels with Cuban background are found in Collins Avenue from the 15th on. They provide all kinds of comforts and some of them are very famous. Most rooms offer ocean view, swimming pool, fitness area, spa, restaurants, and other services. There are lots of them until North Beach and Bal Harbour. Up north, one may also find cheap, beach-side motels. There are also various skyscraper hotels, especially in the financial part of Downtown, in front of the Miami Harbour. They are all part of various hotel chains and are suggested for quick stops or business meetings.

Restaurants
Something that is always present in South Beach are food and music. Every corner of SOBE has restaurants. The main streets are Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue, Lincoln Road and Espanola Way. In Ocean Drive one will usually eat fish, in restaurants fronting the street. However, the trendiest and fanciest restaurants are found in Collins Avenue. They don’t have an outside view, so their strong points are more in the design, preciousness and dish style departments. Espanola Way and Lincoln Road are the most romantic streets. Off-limits for cars and full of people, you’ll dine by candle light, breath inside a magic, light atmosphere, made up of a thousand colours and lights. There is music, table chatter, which means a lot of ways of socializing. Everybody feels like they’re on holiday in SoBe and they are much more inclined to smiling and chatting. Meeting people is quite easy.

Lincoln Road is also known as a meeting point for the various gay communities. It is therefore very easy to find same-sex couples sitting at a table. We suggest a fancy dress code to women in this area, with high heels, uncovered shoulders, chiffon and silk. During the winter, a small sweater on the shoulder will protect you from the humidity. In the other streets, with the exception of some restaurants in Collins Avenue, a more casual dress code is allowed. However, all women in Miami Beach like to dress quite fancy. Fashion is present all over the streets, which means high heels, uncovered backs and bellies, tight clothes with soft fabrics. Women at night usually choose to wear colour-coded purses, shoes and dress. Cavalli low jeans and skirts are very popular. Gucci and Versace have a big presence in South Beach, especially skirts and shorts. In order to find the perfect boutique, we advise You to read our Shopping area suggestions.

SoBe is always very patrolled by police forces. However, we advise women not to wear very visible jewelry. After 2 am, please be careful when walking around. We suggest you have your Restaurant call you a taxi. Miami Beach is usually a safe area. We suggest you book your restaurant. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are days where you’ll have to stay in line if you do not book. Please read our Restaurant suggestions, which talk about cuisine types and atmosphere/setting, so that you’ll have a clearer and more objective point of view.

Shopping
Miami Beach is among the world’s trendiest cities. A lot of the hot items you’ll find in the world’s boutiques are born here. Along with New York, London and Paris, it is probably the place with the most say on tomorrow’s fashion.

In SOBE people usually dress casual and summer-like during the day, especially on the beach and when tanning. Bikinis, jeans, and wraparound skirts are more than sufficient for the whole day. Usually girls wear the top of the bikini with a wraparound skirt around the waist, open on one side, and with simple sandals on their feet. Jeans skirts and micro shorts are usually worn. We advise against wearing heels and dark clothes during the day. For men we suggest wearing knee-long swimming suits, and short t-shirts around the waist.

Every night in South Beach, people will take a lot of care into dressing up and preparing for parties, restaurant evenings, in clubs or for festivities. All women wear high heels, usually tied up to their calf, they wear the latest trend jeans, tied with foulards, light dresses with uncovered shoulders and back. You’ll see from one colour fashion dresses, to a combination of trendy styles of today. The hair is usually loose, straightening is fashionable, however in chic places tied up hair is suggested.

In Ocean Drive you’ll be able to find various fashion houses, some of them very famous such as Cavalli, Versace, Gucci and Hugo Boss. Fashion items are easily found here. Some famous brands like Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani and Nike can be found in Collins Avenue between the sixth and the thirteenth. The most extreme boutiques may be found in Washington Avenue. They possess the most innovative, weird and self-centered items. You’ll also find nice jeans, shoes and gay-fashion clothes. Some Pret-a-porter boutiques can be found in Lincoln Road. They have middle class brands, usually Italian, such as Victoria’s Secret, some second-hand shops and night dresses, and finally some current art shops.

In order to find the latest trends, we suggest the center of Bal Harbour, north of Miami Beach. You’ll find all the world’s most famous brands: Gucci, Cartier, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Zegna, Prada, Armani, Valentino, Versace, Cavalli and many more. There are also good restaurants. The atmosphere is multi-dimensional but always elegant. We suggest adequate clothing. It takes about 30 minutes by car to get there from South Beach. All telephone numbers and address are found inside these pages.

On the other side of the price scale are Bayside and Downtown on the harbor. There are lots of shops, especially sport outlets, huge chains, shoe shops and more. It is a commercial center with a nice atmosphere, fronting the sea, with a care for details, music, entertainment and more. A must-stop.

Clubs e Nightlife
South Beach has become a legend all over the world for its nightlife. Nothing is more hectic. The only other place in the United States where one has this much fun is Las Vegas. There nothing else to do in Miami Beach apart from having fun. There are places and clubs for everyone’s tastes, open all night long.

They are usually found in Washington Avenue, however in the last years concept clubs have been born everywhere. The most popular music around Miami Beach is mainstream hip hop with techno tones and some modern acoustic music. A lot of famous rappers have a house here in Miami Beach. There also a lot of South American music because of the nearness to Cuba. Cuban young people here all dance superbly. Ask them to dance with you.

All clubs have a list, so it is suggested that you book and make sure from the hotel if they can put your name on an entry list, otherwise you’ll have to wait in line. However, it is quite easy to find girls at the entrance and pretend you’re together so you can get it. Sometimes they’ll ask you to pay for their entry ticket in exchange.

Some clubs are strictly gay. Tolerance and respect are always suggested and it is easy to socialize. If you look very young, it is possible you might be asked for ID. You will only get in if you’re 21 and above. The dress code is always out of order in these places. Welcome to Miami Beach.

Usually clubs have nights that are different in music and dress code. You’re in Miami Beach, do not be shy when dressing up. Here, everything’s allowed. In the Clubs Section of these pages you’ll find information on music, theme nights and services. A lot of clubs offer a driver service from and to a hotel.

We advise against being in nightclubs after 2:30 am by yourself, especially if you’re a girl. There is still a lot of security inside and the managers like to keep everything under control. In every toilet there are usually contraceptive vending machines.
The busiest nights are usually on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. There often is full house during the other nights. The dress code is always extreme. High heels, skirts, and low cut dresses. Every woman at night becomes irresistible and charming in Miami Beach.

Beware when thinking of taking drugs, or drinking too much alcohol. Excessive people are frowned upon, and it is easy to spend the night in jail in Miami Beach. A lot of restaurants offer music with live dj after dinner. They are usually very cozy, with sophisticated clients, night dresses, blazers and full dresses. There are also a lot of beach parties in Ocean Drive with mojito, caipirinha, beer and fantastic bonfires.

During the weekend you’ll often be give fliers on the street and invites for parties on the same night. Don’t worry, there are various places in Miami Beach where to dance, have fun, socialize and hang out.

We advise against being on the free beach at night, or following stranger’s invites into cars or parties inside hotel rooms and/or private houses if you do not know them. Always be careful. The possession of drugs is always complicated in the United States. If you’ve chosen to go into clubs in Miami and/or Downtown, get back by taxi. At night the only ok place where to walk is the Art Decò area of Miami Beach.

If you been up all night, we suggest you take off your shoes and walk by the ocean in order to catch the fantastic lights and colours that signal a new day is starting in Miami. The rhythm of the city is high at every hour. There never is quiet in this city. If you want to take a break from your life for a while, live a fantastic experience, full of lights, new things and a lot of people, you’re in the right place.
