What our Guests say:

1) Just a different option is downtown Miami called Brickell area.. you get the bayfront and the oceanfront views in one, and just 5-7 minutes to South Beach in non-rush hour. Brickell has great restaurants & now a growing number of popular clubs as well. It’s where a lot of locals hang out early evenings before heading out to SoBe afterwards. Plenty of condos/rentals around, and is about $200-300 per s.f. cheaper than SoBe beachfronts.

2) Do you want to be on South Beach? Dont forget there are other areas that are very nice, 7 to 10 minutes away from South Beach. There is Brickell, the Design District and Coconut Grove Areas. Are you looking to rent or buy? Send me a private message and I will assist you with all of your needs.

3) South Beach is THE only palce to stay if you are looking for beach, sun and fun! All the fun stuff is happening at SoBe and it is such a hassle with the “long” taxi drive back home in the night. Live anywhere in between 1-23 street. Enjoy!

4) Depends on what you want.I lived at ICON- South of Fifth…..Good Fun Particularly the pool on weekends….moved up to Collins and 59 to building wioth beach club….South of Fifth is nuts and dosen’t stop- great for vacation…I got tired of that area after two years…Brickel Key is nice too…quiet and the Mandarin is right there you also have some cool new places on brickel avenue…

art-basel-2009-miami

For Art Basel you should try to stay at The Sagamore Hotels on South Beach if your really into Art, the hotel is beautiful and a true gem but the owners are some of the biggest art collectors in Miami and the place is always great, also a cool local scene as well on the weekends and a fun restaurant downstairs.

The Ritz Hotel in SOBE is also nice on the beach….
The best hotels are probably sold out because of Art Basel, if you are lucky and find rooms then we would suggest:
Setai,
Tides,
Victor,
W Hotel
Gansevoort.
Shaun as well and Fontainbleau is good.

If the beach is very full, there is always the Viceroy on Brickell.

Delano Hotels is real good too.

During the Art Basel in Miami, there are a lot of cocktails and parties in the Design District!
Art works everywhere in Miami Beach!

So, try to find a room in South Beach and move without car!

Here the Hotels Page to check rates in South Beach

Best Restaurants we suggest in this period:

Nobu at Shore Club, Casa Tua (Best Italian Ever), Blue Door, and Touch.
All are with walking distance in South Beach Art Decò District.

A great place (and one of the most popular in Miami Beach) to go for dinner is Prime 112.
It’s a steak house that’s always packed with people and has a great vibe.
But make sure to reserve in advance. It’s always full.
We advice that sometime even with reservations you´ll have to wait a lot,

Also Rose Bar at Delano is always a scene.

Coming to Miami Beach in November?

Comments and Advices from our Guests:

Miami is a place that has fun 7 days a week. But you have to know that each place has there own day. But during weekends almost every place is fun, also you have to understand that you are coming to Miami few days before the Art Basel, so its will be crazy here, but most people who you will meet will be tourists.

Most Miami people will live the city during this weekend. So I can advice to you next places:

Friday - Evening you can go for drinks to Gansevoort roof top, its one of the latest places. Delano is also not bad place to be on this day. Night: Mint Club, Set Club and Luis Club.

Saturday – Sunday is a day of Fontainebleau hotel all day long. You can start with a pool there, for have a place near the pool, you have to get in touch with managers from pool aria and reserve places. Then u can go to the lounge aria at the same hotel, they have more then 10 restaurants and beautiful lounges inside and outside. Finally – Live Club at the same hotel, the best spot for Saturday night.

Sunday - You can start with a Shore club pool, it’s the most fun pool for young people. Its guest list only, so you have to go not from the mane entrance but from the side entrance, and say that you are going to the Jason promoter, but in this case you have to come with girls, one girl – for one boy, or you can try to buy a bottles there.
After there is not so much to do… You can go again to Shore Club for drinks, and later they have a club there – Red Room. Or you can check Set Club.

Restaurants: My first chose: Prime112, Devito, Nobu sushi, D’Azure and BartonG.
All this restaurant need reservation, specially the last one!

Hotel Booking Tips in Miami?

Monday, November 16th, 2009

tips-to-book-hotels

The basic rule of thumb in the Hotel Industry is as follows...

YIELD …

a) You have a fixed amount of inventory….100 rooms or 20 no worries that is all you can have as the hotel ONLY has that many rooms.

b) The demand fluctuations impact the price…any of those hotels if they DO still have an UNSOLD room will unfortunately sell it at the highest possible rate as demand exeeds supply plain and simple…so…to get a good room rate (insider tips)

So, when you call:

You don’t just need one or two or three nights…you may need 5 or 6
They will take YOU over someone who only needs one or two nights

Ask about their no show cut off date..for example any hotelier worth their weight will have set a limit…a booking made for the room can still be cancelled without paying a penalty…normally the cutoff date is same day as arrival by 6pm…but when a City has an event in Town they know that many will book then cancel so to insure they don’t get hung with empty room will have a 48 hour cancellation deadline…and if the poor sod who does cancel cancels in less than 48 hours he pays two nights full rate

So you will probably find that the no penalty cancellation deadline in SOBE is 72 hours or even 7 days before the event in question …ask if you can get on the waiting list as the date approaches there WILL be cancellations in time to avoid penalty and they will then sell THOSE rooms to the people on the waiting list!

Try it!

Then once you have booked your 5 or 7 nights… you may change the booking for only the two or three you need (as long as you do it within the cancellation period)….do it later though…don’t be too obvious!

Fontainebleau-hotel-miami

The historic Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel is facing financial troubles, with contractors claiming $60 million in unpaid bills and possible bankruptcy on the horizon.

The Fontainebleau showcased a $650 million renovation at a celebrity studded opening with supermodels, pop singers and movie stars just last year.

Now contractors say the Fontainebleau has stopped paying its bills, and a hotel executive says bankruptcy is an option as it also tries to reduce its $660 million construction loan.

A spokesman for developer Jeffrey Soffer says the Fontainebleau is performing well above its peers and that they are pleased with the hotel’s progress in a challenging economic environment.

We don’t suggest to book long term stay at this time.

Chic Hotel in Miami for New Year?

new-year-in-miami

What our Guests say:

1) Delano has a nice lobby and pool area but the rooms (with tiny windows) and the building are crap. The pool is also known for the rowdy behaviour of some of its guests.

2) The Mondrian has nice views, but the plastic all over the place makes you feel like “a barbie doll in a plastic world”. It is OK for a day but it gets to you on the second day. Also it doesn’t have a beach and you must pay to use its sister hotel’s beaches (Delano and hore Club).

3) Setai is the most beautiful hotel in South Beach with one of the best restaurants in the area.
I haven’t been at the W but I have heard good things about it.

4) Delano or Setai.

5) Delano, Setai, Modrian….

6) For something different try The Hotel.

7) W or Mondrian in South Beach.

8) Try the Gansevoort – very well priced for what it is have fun

9) Delano’s I will be there too but it is extremely expensive …

10) I have stayed at the Delano a few times before. Has anyone tried the new W Hotel in Southbeach?

11) Delano has a nice lobby and pool area but the rooms (with tiny windows) and the building are crap.

12) Have to agree. Everybody knows that if a “Delano” opened virtually anywhere else in the world, it would close in a month.

13) W or Mondrian in South Beach. Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. Icon Viceroy in Brickell or Epic Downtown. These are your best bets: not overrated, and not inexplicably priced.

14) Shore Club or the Victor – always a good time. I’m heading down again this December 1 to 4 for Art Basel Miami. Enjoy ladies!

Emergency: Miami Missing Person.

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Hey everyone, a very bad thing just happened.

A friend of mine was in miami Mynt last friday (October 30) and he never showed up at the Hotel since last night. Right now he is classified as a missing person. He doesn´t do drugs, and he doesn´t end up with random girls since he is in a relationship and I´ve known him for quite a while.

He is from Mexico, all hospitals and prisons have been checked and no signs from him. The hotel he is staying in (Shoreclub) has not seen him as well. Last time he was seen was on Mynt, – a top Club in Miami – drinking but not wasted.

Please I need help, if someone has a good contact in Miami let me know. Police is already “looking” for him, as well as the mexican consulate but the truth is they are not doing the job as they should. I really need help.

He is 27 years old. I´ve ran out of ideas, I feel useless at this point.

Open a ticket if you have some important advice.

Comments and Tips from our Guests:

A great place (and one of the most popular in Miami) to go for dinner is Prime 112.
It’s a steak house that’s always packed with people and has a great vibe. But make sure to reserve in advance. It’s always full.

For clubbing, I would definitely check out Mynt or Set.
Also has a crazy line-up to get in so reserve.

If you feel like a little diversion during your stay in Miami, consider a day charter on a luxurious sail catamaran. If you want more information check our Yachts Dept.

PRIME 112 is wonderfoul , even with reservations you´ll have to wait a lot, also vey nice Gramercy Tavern at the FONTAINEBLEAU HOTEL, the Bar at the Fointanbleu , The Bar at the Setai,

Oh yeah…and drinks at the Mondrian Hotel on a Friday are a must.
