3) I went to One Bal Harbour last weekend for 3 nights. I have stayed in several hotels in the Miami area. This time I decided to go a bit north, to relax a bit. One Bal Harbour was just 15 minutes outside of South Beach. It was the perfect getaway. I was right accross the street from the restaurants in Bal Harbour, and just 15 minutes from all of the Clubs in South Beach. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate me. The hotel is stunning. The views are amazing. It was the perfect little getaway. I would suggest this hotel to everyone.

1) Fantastic kings suites with balcony and ocean view … just the best in Miami South beach love It !

2) Great for holding meetings….service and food were excellant. Restaurant for lunch is fantastic. They have a private room that you can reserve which comfortably seats 10. Only watchout is when picking rooms to hold meetings do not choose Studio 1…it is adjacent to 2 entrances (one being the garbage) and extremly noisy.

5) How is the service there? Hopefully better than the ones in NYC…which were in line with the likes of Holiday Inn with regards to personnel and the service they delivered. The Penguin Hotel star rating should be 2 stars not 3 stars.

Justin, one of our Guest, explains why:

The Front Porch Cafe and the Penguin Hotel are not associated so don’t expect any room service. There is no normal hotel lobby and only one person working the small front desk at any given time.

Early check-in will cost you $50.

The rooms do look like the pictures but note the worn decor has been around for 10 years or more. As you enter the elevator you get this smell of restaurant cooking and cherry air freshener. When you enter the room you overwhelmed by cheap air freshener-Gardenia.

The rooms do have security safes which seems to be the norm in the South Beach area. Our room had a wet bar sink and a mini-fridge. Room did not have any tissues (Kleenex) around only toilet paper again definitely not 3 stars.

Our bathroom had blackish mold on the wall behind the sink which was nasty. The bathroom did have a hair-drier but is was falling off the wall and needed to be reattached, it could have fallen into the toilet very easily. The AC unit would only cool to like 73 degrees which is not that cool at night.
