Comments and advices from our Guests:

1) Perfect example of “trying too hard“. Looks good from far but when you get in, everything goes wrong…..Showers leak water in the room, Horrible service… rude and arrogant staff, flies all over the breakfast bar..rude bartenders in the lobby (tip is added automatically???) … food at Asia de cuba nothing like other cities quality…. JUST A BIG MISTAKE to stay there… My little vacation was turned into a Horrible experience and completely ruined by lack of meeting “any” expectation you may have from a Mondrian Hotel….

2) The design is great and fresh, it feels more quiet then the ocean sides for whom loves a bit of privacy.
The pool is really nice, and you can enjoy a great sunset.
The food is very average, but who cares ;)
The Agua spa feels amazing :)
Just enjoy …

What our Guests say:

1) My favourite place in this city, and great food and views.

2) Try the Biscayne Suite…it is just wonderful with an absolutely amazing view, very private. Food is great, liked the little cozy beach.

3) Love it…had there my first fashion show in USA…elegant and charming…as everyone said probably not recommended to those looking for south beach atmosphere.

4) Magnificent, and well run …. no attitude either (Very Un-South Beach).

5) Far away from everything except financial district…hotel is super, large rooms, great view, excellent service!!!

6) Really far from everything. Very nice hotel but impersonal.

7) Loved it. The staff were friendly and everyone was helpful. Far away from all the good places though.

8) I found it very impersonal, almost like a [very luxurious, granted] airport hotel, and too far from anything of interest to me.

9) Just brilliant.

Chic Hotel in Miami for New Year?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

new-year-in-miami

What our Guests say:

1) Delano has a nice lobby and pool area but the rooms (with tiny windows) and the building are crap. The pool is also known for the rowdy behaviour of some of its guests.

2) The Mondrian has nice views, but the plastic all over the place makes you feel like “a barbie doll in a plastic world”. It is OK for a day but it gets to you on the second day. Also it doesn’t have a beach and you must pay to use its sister hotel’s beaches (Delano and hore Club).

3) Setai is the most beautiful hotel in South Beach with one of the best restaurants in the area.
I haven’t been at the W but I have heard good things about it.

4) Delano or Setai.

5) Delano, Setai, Modrian….

6) For something different try The Hotel.

7) W or Mondrian in South Beach.

8) Try the Gansevoort – very well priced for what it is have fun

9) Delano’s I will be there too but it is extremely expensive …

10) I have stayed at the Delano a few times before. Has anyone tried the new W Hotel in Southbeach?

11) Delano has a nice lobby and pool area but the rooms (with tiny windows) and the building are crap.

12) Have to agree. Everybody knows that if a “Delano” opened virtually anywhere else in the world, it would close in a month.

13) W or Mondrian in South Beach. Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. Icon Viceroy in Brickell or Epic Downtown. These are your best bets: not overrated, and not inexplicably priced.

14) Shore Club or the Victor – always a good time. I’m heading down again this December 1 to 4 for Art Basel Miami. Enjoy ladies!

What our Guests say:

1) The W Hotel in South Beach, photo above.

2) The Standard Hotel in Island Avenue is my favourite ….

3) What about Gansevoort? I haven’t been yet, but I am referencing the one in New York.

4) When I visited Miami, I enjoyed the following places:
Hotels: Gansevoort, Hotel Setai, Mondrian (it is on the Bay but really cool spot).
Outings: Gansevoort roof top, Delano Hotel, Fontainebleau
resto: CasaTua, Barton G, sushi Samba on Lincoln, Asia de Cuba at Mondrian.

5) Hotel: Mondrian, Setai

6) All depends what u want!!! if u want have fun, girls, party and madness go to Shore Club, there is a crazy pool party on sunday, a party on tuesday in Delano and has a red bar lounge inside the hotel, also Nobu the japanese restaurant.

7) Setai is very good but for couples or old people! Gansevoort could be nice but if u are guest u dont have priority to enter in Louis(club in Gans), the same happens with Liv in Fountainebleau.

fontainebleu-miami-beach

What our Guests say:

1) Fontainebleau for all my life (photo above)

2) The Setai – Located directly on the beach in Miami’s famous Art Deco district,

3) Consider Hotel of South Beach, the Shore Club and the new W

4) Fontainebleau really is very nice! Very impressive and new! but it’s at the end of the strip and not sure about the crowd but has a really good club in the hotel as well and fantastic pool.
I stayed at the White Law and was overall very pleased, over the weekend it was packed and full of young people.

5) Stay away from the Shore club which I found to be awful and old. Delano is great and very Miami…
The Setai is beautiful but too classic and laid back for Miami I think…

What our Guests say:

1) The hotel is lovely. The lobby and particularly the Botero sculptures are magnificant.

2) We stayed in a premier bay view suite – Great views of the bay, well executed color scheme and the usual tasteful FS bathroom. Service was excellent. Everyone remembered my name.

3) The pool area is well designed and landscaped. The staff is attentive. The concierge (Jakie) was very helpful also in organising our nightlife in Miami Beach. It was great fun and I highly recommend it!

4) Excellent concierge service. Great (typically Four-seasons style) rooms. Perfect place for business

5) Very nice hotel…love their cocktail and their pool. Great team at the concierge. Far from the glamour and sometimes noise of south beach

6) First Class as always

7) Great hotel. great view and really modern entrance hall but still somehow classic. A must see.

South Beach, the amazing Setai Hotel.

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

What our Guests say:

1) A place to go, simply …beautiful.

2) Amazing rooms, great service, really good restaurant, probably the best in Miami.

3) By far the best hotel in Miami!

4) Were at the Setai last month. Very nice and relaxed place. The penthouse in the Tower is fab!

5) Best Hotel in Miami ever! Really good food and extremely serviceminded personal! Could really recommend this hotel!

6) Nicest hotel on South Beach by far. I know, I’ve tried all the five star hotels. Their service is lacking. Ideal situ would be The Setai with the Mandarin Oriental service. Avoid rooms on the south side of the residence tower. Music too loud from the clubs. Best suite is the two bedroom ocean-front…or 07 unit that runs 2,000 to 2,500 a night.

casa-casuarina-miami-beach

Casa Casuarina – now The Villa - was the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

The service was impeccable, the food was heavenly and the rooms were indescribably beautiful. During my most recent stay I found that the hotel had been completely opened to the public and tourists with cameras had invaded the once exclusive private members club/hotel.

Not only did I find a homeless women wandering around my bathroom due to a massive breach in the hotels security, I was also woken up early in the morning so that my room could be shown off to a guided tour group.

The manager at Casa Casuarina has completely lost the plot attempting to still charge the same prices that were once justified due to their discretion, distinct elegance and over the top luxury.
