But what if you’re here for only a day or two?
Here are some tips for discovering the best of Miami Beach in a short amount of time.
If you have 1/2 a Day
Get a taste of our waterfront in the always-lively Bayside Marketplace.
Arm yourself with a frozen daiquiri and stroll along the bay. There are lots of shops and kiosks, plus live music and entertainment every day.
You can also catch a quick sightseeing cruise from Bayside.
If you have 1 Day
Spend the day in South Beach, where you can get a sun tan, take a tour of historic art deco hotels, lunch at an Ocean Drive cafe, watch a fashion shoot, shop at trendy boutiques, rub elbows with celebrities at dinner, then dance the night away at the hottest clubs, all in the radius of a few blocks!
Don’t miss newly renovated Lincoln Road, site of art galleries, funky shops, and chic restaurants.
And do rent inline skates if you haven’t brought them – it’s one of the most popular ways to get around.
If you have 2 Days
After a hectic day on South Beach, you’ll want to relax. Head out early to Key Biscayne to catch rays on the palm-lined beaches along the causeway or at Crandon Park. There are two attractions moments away: the Miami Seaquarium for a first-hand look at marine life, and Vizcaya, a stunning Italian Renaissance style villa and formal gardens on Biscayne Bay.
In late afternoon, drive down the winding Bayshore Drive to downtown Coconut Grove, a delightful artists’ colony that is now home to eclectic boutiques, fun cafes and restaurants, charming architecture and tropical foliage.
End your day at Cocowalk, a bustling open-air marketplace with shops, restaurants, movies and nightlife.
If you have 3 Days
On your third day, take some time to explore our subtropical flora and fauna.
Three popular attractions to consider: Parrot Jungle and Gardens, a bird sanctuary and botanical garden; Metrozoo, nearly 300 acres of cageless animal exhibits and plant life from four continents; and Fairchild Tropical Garden, a world-renowned botanical garden and conservatory.
Or see our biggest natural attraction of all: Everglades National Park.
Two popular entrances are Shark Valley, on the Tamiami Trail 25 miles west of the turnpike; and the Royal Palm Visitor Center, off the last southern exit of the Florida Turnpike.
You’ll be able to walk the boardwalks and trails and get a first-hand view of this unique river of grass.
In any case, we suggest to spend some time walking in Lincoln Road, it is a very romantic street, where you can enjoy candle light dinner.
